The Shoe Hutch is an old school sit-and-fit shoe shop located at 251 SW Madison Avenue in downtown Corvallis, Oregon, established in November 1977. We live in a world in which retail workers are frequently underinformed and undertrained. If you want to talk to honest-to-goodness “shoe dogs” who are experienced at helping customers find the right shoes for their needs, stop on by — both Tim and Matt have been at it for years.

While you’re at it you can talk to shoe store dogs, too — Benny Banana the golden retriever and Huckleberry Finn the yellow lab! (Yeah, we’re “the shoe store with the dogs!”)

We try to carry a broad array of quality comfort shoes for women and men, running the gamut from walking shoes to “Corvallis dress shoes.” We do an excellent job with wide widths, as well as women’s size 11 and men’s size 13. We try to price things very competitively — talk to us if you see something elsewhere at a lower price, we’ll generally work with you. We’re also happy to special order anything we don’t stock from the companies with which we do business.

Our sale racks are legendary — stuffed full of great bargains!

Our main niche is “comfort casual” shoes, sandals, and boots. Some of our most popular brands include Clarks™, SAS™Rieker™, Ecco™, Josef Seibel™, Pikolinos™, Dunham™, Rockport™, Soft Walk™, Trotters™, Romika™, Arcopedico™, Cobb Hill™, Gelatos™,  and Propét™, and Aetrix™. We also carry quite a few athletic shoes from New Balance™ (emphasis on their walking shoes and runners-used-for-walking) and slippers from Acorn™ and Minnetonka™.

We have 0.47 bajillion socks as well as handbags and wallets. And shoe laces. We get joy from selling shoe laces.

Normally we are open 7 days a week to serve you, shutting down only for the 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and a few other big holidays like that. During the current coronavirus situation we have halted Sunday openings. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Contrary to internet rumors, we do not do shoe repair — nor do we carry children’s shoes, sorry to say. Please don’t hesitate to give us a call if you have a question.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOYAL SUPPORT! (We really do appreciate it.)
